Guest Speaker: Min Demetrius Greer, Greater St Paul AME Church, Morgantown, WV

Demetrius A. Greer serves as an academic advisor in the WVU Reed College of Media. Greer joined the advising team in August 2013 and works primarily with first-time freshmen and students with fewer than 30 earned credit hours. Greer oversees the MOVE (Motivating Others Via Engagement) Peer Mentoring Program for the college. Mr. Greer has taught JRL 101 online since summer 2016.

Before coming to WVU, Greer worked as a Behavioral Health Technician in a residential facility in Rockford, Ill. He has experience as an academic counselor and instructor (Northern Illinois University), a case manager for specialized foster care children, and a drug addiction counselor.

Greer is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and holds Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees in psychology from Kishwaukee College and Northern Illinois University, respectively. Greer also earned a Masters of Divinity from Duke University and is a licensed minister in the Church of God in Christ. He currently serves as the associate pastor of Greater St. Paul AME Church in Morgantown, WV.

The Women of Greater St Paul AME Church will host its Annual Women's Day Service, Sunday, July 8, 2018

Lunch : 130pm
Service: 3pm

Guest Speaker: Rev. Dr. Judith C. Moore
Dr Judith
Reverend Dr. Judith C. Moore is a retired pastor (3rd District AME, Pittsburgh, PA), author, lecturer and advocate for Black women/girls issues. She is committed to excellence and inspiring women and girls to live their best lives.

Dr. Moore is an expert in developing ministries for women of color, especially, single moms. She founded Sisters Saving Ourselves, Now, and directs—All Moms Are Blessed, Girls Excel of Purpose (Kubwa Academy).

Dr. Moore is a member of African American Women for Political Change, Black Women’s Roundtable, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a convener, Pittsburgh/Mon Valley, an affiliate of National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and Black Women Roundtable out of Washington, DC. Dr. Moore earned Masters of Divinity and Doctors of Ministry degrees from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and a B.A. in Elementary Education/Early Childhood Development from Clark Atlanta University. She recently began working on a documentary on Women of Color: Trials, Tribulations & Triumphs in Lyon, France.

2018 Lay Service

Greetings in the name of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ! Greater St. Paul AME Church will be having our Lay Sunday Service, on March 18th, 2018, at 3:00 pm. The purpose of the Lay Organization is to organize and train the lay members of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, so that each member may utilize to the maximum the abilities and skills granted by God, in assisting with the improvement and extension of God’s kingdom, and creating happiness, peace, and harmony among its members. On behalf of our Pastor, Reverend Georgia B. Morrow, we invite you to come fellowship with us, as we worship the Lord this day, in Spirit and in Truth!

Our Guest Speaker for this Lay Sunday Service will be Reverend 
Stanley McDonald of New Hope Baptist Church, Ashland Kentucky.

Greater St Paul AME Church will host 2018 Black History Month Service. 

Title: BLIND SPOTS IN TRANSFORMING THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT: A CRITIQUE OF NEW URBANISM


Soul Food dinner will be served at 130pm

The program starts at 3pm. With continued discussion and dessert downstairs after the program. The speakers are Min Demetrius Greer (holds Masters from Duke University Theological Seminary) and Brian Brooks (WVU Ph.D. candidate). 

NOTE: This is a fundraising event for Greater St Paul AME Church, donations are welcomed.
